"Being a mother, like all God-appointed roles in human life, is something that can only be properly carried out in the power of God. To attempt it with merely human resources is the sure way to break Mom down and injure everyone around her. Ann Kroeker shows realistic ways in which the resources of God's kingdom, in the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, can be abundantly available to Mom where she is, and can flow from her to little souls in t. This book makes many of the most powerful spiritual practices of Christ's people through the ages available to his friends living today--and especially to Mom, the perpetual center of renewed human life."
--Dallas Willard, author of _Renovatof the Heart_, _The Spirit of the Disciplines_ and _The Divine Conspiracy_.

Whether you're changing diapers or passing out car keys, intimacy with God can be challenging for a mother to find. Welcome to a web site dedicated to helping moms sort through the clutter and chaos to find a contemplative center in Jesus Christ.

If you've already discovered my first book, The Contemplative Mom, you know that it reflects my own experience of feeling clueless as to how I might—with three kids driving every detail of my daily existence—have any meaningful intimacy with the Lord. I felt like I received direct mentoring from God Himself as He pointed me to soul-changing resources that resulted in rich fellowship with Him. Now we have a fourth child, and I'm so glad He took me down this road of "contemplation"; I need intimacy with Him now, more than ever!

As author of The Contemplative Mom, I wanted to create a place online where countless other moms and I can share our ongoing journey of discovering how a passionate relationship with God is possible in the midst of motherhood. Think of this site as a continually updated appendix to The Contemplative Mom as well as a place for fellowship with like-minded women. Utilizing a wide variety of resources, I hope to offer creative, practical and enjoyable suggestions to help you walk closely with God through the wonderful and sometimes nerve-wracking challenges of raising a family.

I read an interesting quote one time defining a contemplative person: "A contemplative is a person whose deepest desire is to exist in the closest possible relationship to God. Nothing else matters much."

I think that pretty much sums up my hope for contemplatives like you who are seeking God...that you'll act on that deepest desire to exist in the closest possible relationship to God, through Jesus Christ, and do whatever it takes to get there.

Before we get started, however, take a deep breath and relax. Ask the Lord to show you what you need. Ask Him to meet with you. Then when you're ready, come to a quiet place and get some rest.
